Ever go on an amazing SCRC ride and thought that you’d like to share some of your great routes with others in the club?  Well, come to one of the meetings on Saturday,

This meeting is open to everyone and we want to encourage everyone with even an inkling of leading a ride to attend!  “Old” ride leaders are welcome to attend to refresh their memory as well.

We will cover basic ride leader guidelines on how to plan and lead a ride.  A handout will be provided with the basic information to cover in the recommended pre-ride.  We will also go over the ride waiver and have a copy of the waiver to take with you if you sign up for a ride. (These can be downloaded from our website if you decide at a later date to lead a ride).

Safety as well as general accident scene management and first aid procedures will also be presented.  Boom Boom has taken both the basic and advanced Accident Scene Management courses and has a wealth of information to share.  Again, a good refresher even if you’ve heard it all before!

You will have an opportunity to sign up to lead a ride if you’d like.  Please keep in mind that our Saturday club rides do not have any minimum mileage requirements.  If you’ve never led a ride before and are more comfortable leading a shorter ride for your first time out, please don’t be afraid to sign up and go for it!  Rides may be as short and social as you’d like, or longer and more challenging if you choose.

Even if you aren’t planning on leading a ride this season, you are still welcome to come to the meeting and to listen to the information that is going to be presented.  We are all getting excited about the riding season getting closer, so if you are new to the group and want to meet the officers and some of the members, this is a great opportunity to meet them and learn more about our group as well.

Other opportunities to sign up for the ride will be available on the website up until (and probably through) the 2010 riding season.

Sounds Like good information. I am going to try to make it. Wife and daughter are returning from Florida. Have to work around all of that.
